  1. I think that it is not surprising news Obama chooses a female justice. These days need more female power. They can have sound judgment. I am interested that the new justice is a Jewish justice.
Jewish people are a very small group in the world but they are successful immigrants.
When they came to the USA, they did not have money, friends or family. But 100 years after they came to the USA, they achieved a great work.
Now they have good positions in public work and business.
In Ivy League schools, almost 40% are jewish students studying. It's an amazing job.
Through Judaism and education, they have success in the USA.
I'm not sure that Elena Kagan will do any kind job, but she will have good jobs.
I wish that Elena Kagan will speak for female and have a good grasp on immigrant experiences.

  2. I think that President Obama made a good decision. Firt because it is good to give the opportunity to a person like Elena Kagan who is well educated and has the competency to solve problems. And the other hand there will be a lot of criticisms about her and how she will be prepared to work with this new phase in her life. I think Kagan will be handling the Supreme Court very well. I am proud of her and I fell she will do good work. She will be the third woman of the nine - member group and the fourth in the history of the Court. Kagan will be recorded in history. If the President believes that she has the same excellence, independence, integrity and passion for the law, and who can ultimately provide that same kind of leadership on the Court. He probably knows what he is saying anda analyzes this first.I think Elena kagan is a good choice and I hope they confirm her as the new Superme Court member.

  3. When Sonia Sotomayor was nominated by President Obama, there was a strong controversy going on about her favoritism towards Hispanic people. But, it seems like that Kagan doesn’t have any issue with favoritism or other things. As far as I read, Kagan is an ambitious and competent. The facts are that she was a Dean of Harvard, Law School, taught at the University of Chicago Law School, and served as Associate White House Counsel during the administration of Bill Clinton. This makes her look intelligent and elite. I think she will do well as a Supreme Court Justice

  4. I think that Mr. President has done a good job and its great news that finally he choose one of the best justices in the nation. Kagan is a dean in Harvard University, she knows lots about Legal law firm and Young age of 50 and youngest justice in history. I think so she is good for the Supreme Court & she will do her a job like nine justices in the supreme court.I hope the Senate would confirm Kagan. I wish her all the best.

  5. The nomination of Elena Kagan is another great decision taken by President Obama. Elena Kagan has no experience as a judge and many are trying to disqualify her for that. I think everyone needs a chance to prove their skills. We don’t have to have a prejudice for anybody. Let her work and we will see later. After that, We could have an opinion about her job. In the meantime, I am pretty sure Obama decided to nominate this wonderful woman, because she has all the merits to perform this job. I remember that I wrote in this blog my opinion about women taking important positions in our society. She is one of them who wants to do something good for our country. I don’t think her religion will be a problem. I heard some people talking about her belief, so, it doesn’t matter! I am Catholic and she is Jewish and I am still thinking she will do her job pretty well.. For me I wish her my best. Good luck Elena!

  6. OBAMA CHOOSES ELENA KAGAN FOR SUPREME COURT

Elena Kagan is currently the Solicitor General and her principal mission is to represent the Government of the United States before the Supreme Court of the United States. I think that is characteristic. To do that, she does not have problems for being confirmed as a new justice at the Supreme Court. I think also that Mr. Obama has done a master move because he would be sure that she will be accepted.

Some facts about Mrs. Kagan, she will be the youngest member on the nine member bench. She is from New York and also is Jewish. She has never been a Judge.

I mean that Obama’s government in less than two years has taken two important decisions about filling out the vacancy at the Supreme Court with controversial figures. First was the Judge Sotomayor and now Mrs. Kagan, two brave, smart and brilliant women. God bless this country.

  7. I am very pleased with President Obama’s nomination for the replacement of Justice John Paul Stevens for the Supreme Court. Her name is Elena Kagan and it is the second nomination for the Supreme Court that Obama has done. Again, he choose a women. If Kagan gets confirmed by the Senate, she will be the first woman non-judge at the Supreme Court. As President Obama asked for the Congress to decide very soon, there are rumors that if Kagan gets accepted, she will be at the Supreme Court by next fall.
The Americans are talking that Kagan is not a judge, thus she is not as experienced as Justice Stevens. Yet she is a very smart woman. She will be questioned at the Senate for not having a lot of experience and for some comments like the one about homosexuals in the Army. Believe it or not, I believe that Kagan will do great at the Supreme Court and for being so young, let’s hope that she will be there for a long time.
