  1. The cell phone market is the most challenging and dynamic industry in the world. Cell phone manufacturers make each of us an agent like James Bond. On the other hand we can call this market a jungle which only involves carnivores or this is biggest war of technology.

Companies have different weapons in this war. Some of them have hardware power, some of them have software strength, some of them have price advantage, some of them have fashion power and some of them have all.

At this point it is very difficult to choose the right phone for you. As an engineer working in a customer service business I use my phone a lot. Some days I talk all day long, other days I am out of the office and I have to read my emails and reply to them. According to my requirements I bought a Blackberry and used it for two years. My operator was Verizon. Blackberry fullfilled it’s function, but it was not easy to surf on the Internet and read emails. But it did it’s job fair enough.

My manager, who is an iPhone addict, bought a new iPhone 4 and told me about it’s amazing functions. I was really impressed and started to switch my phone to iPhone 4. Yet I have never been a blind or a quick consumer. I always investigate the market before I buy an electronic device, trying to be a conscious consumer.

First of all I was sure that I wanted a fullsize touch screen phone, because I wanted to surf on the Internet like on my PC or laptop. There are a lot of options in the market. Except the biggest companies like Apple, Google, HTC and Ericcson, there are lots of brands that produce touch screen phones.

I started to investigate them and compare the models. I found the Apple Number One. They are the pioneer of this generation and others are the followers. Apple has amazing hardware and perfect response time on it’s magical touchscreen. Only the HTC is the closest one to iPhone about the touchscreen’s response time. Then Apple has the best view and user friendly interface which makes it adorable.

Besides, Microsoft is going to reveal its Windows 7 phone next year. They claimed that their phone was not a follower of the iPhone generation. It has very different software in it, a huge speaker and a keyboard. They also advertised that it would bring a different spectrum to the market. Actually they were a little ashamed because of the Kin, which was the phone before Microsoft had revealed their Windows 7 phone. This created disapointment in the market. Then I saw the commercial and read the article about the Windows 7 phone. I also wanted to have a chance to use a Windows 7 phone.

Indeed, I am still exploring the features of my iPhone which really makes my life easier. For example surfing on the Internet, accessing my mail account quickly, watching and reading news, tracking my shipments and airline flights wherever I want.

God bless engineers and technologists. All these phones are really amazing. Behind these black, fancy boxes a huge experience and effort exists. We all have to appreciate the people who designed and developed these toys for us. I hope everyone enjoys and likes their current phone as well as I do.
